Ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual who enjoys working with school-aged children, has some education in Childhood Development, Early Childhood, Physical Education, Recreation or closely related field and/or experience in a childcare setting. Ideal candidate is interested in organizing and leading a variety of activities for school-aged children and in supervising the After School Program.
SALARY
- $7.75 per hour ($8.75 if meets Department of Health Services Childcare Licensing Requirements for teacher caregiver)
- Paid bi-weekly, 20 hours per week with additional hours as required, mostly afternoon hours.
- This is a temporary part-time position (school year only).
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Must have the ability to work effectively with school officials, teachers, custodians and parents, establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, program participants and the general public. Must be available to work earlier than the normal schedule on days the school has early release. Upon hire, employees will be required to attend training for certification in CPR and first aid. Tuberculin tests and fingerprinting are also required by the Arizona Department of Health Services, as this program is licensed for daycare.
- Any combination of training, education or experience which demonstrates the potential ability to perform the duties of the position including graduation from high school or equivalent, supplemented by classes in Early Childhood, Childhood Development, Recreation or closely related field along with some childcare experience. Must be at least 18 years of age for Instructor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
INSTRUCTOR: Employee organizes, promotes, teaches and conducts a variety of recreational activities such as arts and crafts, sports and games, study time, special events and other recreational and educational activities. Employee reports to the Site Director and assists with the maintenance of records, inventories, reports and information and maintaining consistent discipline procedures as well as safety considerations. Must be able to serve daily snacks adhering to CACFP policies.
