The City of Casa Grande Fire Department is providing this information to better prepare residents in the event of some type of emergency or disaster situation related to Homeland Security issues.

1. Prepare a Family Disaster Supply Kit (72-hour kit) 

Water – 1 gallon of H20 per person per day 
Food – 3 day supply of non-perishable 
First aid kit 
Tools & Supplies – flashlights, radios, pocket knife 
Clothing and Bedding 
Special Items – baby formula, Medications 
Important family documents 
AM/FM radio with batteries 

 

 

2. Prepare a Family Disaster Plan 

EDITH – Exit Drills In The Home (how to get out of your home) 
Utility Shut-offs (water, gas and electric) 
Evacuation Route 
Out of State Contact 
Is your office prepared? 
Are your kids school prepared? 
 Family pets and animals 

 

 

3. Prepare an Emergency Vehicle Kit 

Battery powered radio, flashlight and extra batteries 
Blankets 
Booster cables 
Fire extinguisher (5lb. ABC type) 
First aid kit 
Bottled water and non-perishable high energy food 
Maps, shovel, flares 
Tire repair kit and pump 

 

 

4. Identify potential hazards within your home and 
    neighborhood and reduce those hazards to the 
    degree possible.
