General Plan Update General Plan Update

Updates to the City’s General Plan normally occur every ten (10) years unless the City experiences rapid growth, then an update is needed before the 10th year.  The General Plan is a document that serves as a guide for the City on how land should be developed in the future. Land uses are designated within the General Plan for the City of Casa Grande’s future growth. This service area in the Planning and Development Department provides staffing and technical support during the City’s effort to update the General Plan.

Annexation Annexation

Annexation requests are processed within the Long Ranges Planning Division, and forwarded to the Mayor and Council for approval. A team of City Staff conducts a visit to a proposed annexation site, in order to make an initial evaluation of the site. The team will make notes of the existing roadways, land uses, presence of homes or structures, existing fire hydrants in the area, and distance from the City’s nearest Police and Fire Stations. The team will forward a report of the observations done during the visit, and a recommendation to the Mayor and Council when obtaining a Council direction.
